The panel was acquired by the King Baudouin Foundation through the Charles Vreeken Fund, and will enter the permanent collection of Museum M in Leuven.

Very few major paintings by Willem Key have stayed in Belgium, and this one has been listed as a Topstuk, among the masterpieces of the Flemish heritage.
